Every Saturday morning, except during tournaments, Steve Linehan offers a class for 20 minutes on a single beginning topic. There is a talk with examples of hands which illustrate the topic. After the lesson, a series of boards are played. At anytime during the bidding or the play of the hand, if there is a question, an "expert" may be called over to explain, suggest, or otherwise help. After the play of the hand, the cards are laid out "dummy style" and an expert comes over to say what, usually, should have been done, or to say, rarely, the bid/play was well done. The learning is immediate, dynamic, and is an excellent way to learn and retain information without stress or embarrassment. i.e. It's fun.
Every Wednesday morning, except during tournaments, Straight Talk is the class. The play of the hands function like Smart Talk, except there is no lecture in the beginning. The experts will explain hands at a higher level of play than the Saturday morning class, bringing up conventions to which beginners may not yet be exposed. It is still fun, immediate, and dynamic learning.
Sundays bring Val and/or Steve to the club in the morning to answer any questions you might have about any hand or bidding. And best of all, this class is FREE. Stay for the game afterward and use all the new information!
Every Thursday before the game, Val gives an intermediate bridge lesson on a topic of her choice. Val is the ultimate expert at the club and her lessons are not to be missed. Guess what, this lesson is FREE!!!
Every Sunday at 12:30 Steve holds a 45 minute class for relative beginners. After the class the group plays around 15 hands of bridge for real masterpoints. This class and game are for players with fewer than 100 points.
Every Tuesday morning Don offers a class for players with fewer than 500 points. You will play about 15 hands of bridge and then Don will discuss the hands which were played. And to make it even better, winners will get masterpoints!
